Honda StepWGN is a large multipurpose vehicle with extensive glass areas throughout the vehicle, allowing sunlight to enter the cabin and causing heat to build up easily. The owner therefore wanted window tint that would provide effective heat rejection and enhanced privacy, while maintaining comfortable visibility through the windshield and ensuring compatibility with important electronic signals such as GPS and Easy Pass.
For this installation, 3M CMIR 15 was applied to the windshield. With VLT 16.0%, VLR 4.5%, IRR 90.0%, UVR 99.8%, and TSER 63.6%, it provides strong infrared and heat rejection while maintaining a comfortable driving environment.
The side and rear windows were fitted with 3M CMIR 05. With VLT 5.3%, VLR 4.4%, IRR 95.0%, UVR 99.9%, and TSER 66.1%, its darker shade provides a high level of privacy while delivering excellent infrared and solar heat rejection.
Both 3M CMIR 15 and CMIR 05 are compatible with important electronic signals such as GPS and Easy Pass, allowing them to operate without signal interference.
After installation, the customer was highly satisfied with the results. The films delivered the desired level of darkness and privacy while noticeably reducing heat entering the cabin. With excellent heat rejection, UV protection, and privacy performance, the 3M CMIR Series creates a cooler and more comfortable driving environment.
